The Beginnings of a LiteratureAs the Starter Kit evolves the connective tissue between items will grow as well. Lists of publications will evolve into a literature analysis. Links to presentations will be annotated with comments and feedback. What's more, you will be able to make your own connections between the information here, and add to it with your own experiences and materials. For now, the basic tenets of participatory librarianship have been developed in the technology brief produced for ALA, and derivative works:Participatory Networks: The Library as Conversation. R. David Lankes, Joanne Silverstein, Scott Nicholson (2007)The theoretical aspects of the brief were emphasized in a COLIS presentation: "Participatory Networks: The Library as Conversation" Lankes, R. David, Silverstein, J. L., Nicholson, S., Marshall, T. (2007) 12(4). Information Research. [Available at http://informationr.net/ir/12-4/colis/colis05.html]The implications of a participatory approach for library organizations is discussed in: "Library Association 2.0." Lankes, R. D. (September 2007). Searcher Magazine. Medford, NJ; Information today.Forthcoming articles are anticipated to explore the implications of participatory librarianship in ethics: "The Ethics of Participatory Librarianship" Lankes, R. David (forthcoming). Journal of Library Administrationcredibility: "Credibility on the Internet: Shifting From Authority to Reliability" Lankes, R. David (forthcoming). Journal of Documentation.reference: "Virtual Reference to Participatory Librarianship: Expanding the Conversation" Lankes, R. David (forthcoming).
