    ILL provides needed stuff, two cooperating libraries provide the service, and the person we served come to us to tell how successful this was for them. That is great in all types of libraries. But ILL is constantly dubbed as expensive and many libraries try to hide us, automate it completely, or take over the good parts to buy this stuff that was requested, interact with the person we served, and try to be the ones who receive the shared message. When a service can do it all, don’t squash it, but instead use it as a model.

    David, you’re my hero. Thanks for helping me to remember why I became a librarian in the first place.     Wow, just wow. I feel inspired to keep trying to return to the library profession. You remind me of why I wanted to be a librarian in the first place and why I want to be part of the profession still. Not just serving the community but creating a community of people who make each other better for the association.
